Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb Tour
No doubt about it Sydney is glittzy city blessed with it's natural setting and iconic man made structures. One of these is of course the Sydney harbour bridge. The Sydney Harbour Bridge carries thousands of cars, trains, buses and pedestrians each day. Walking across the bridge is a wonderful and simple way of exploring this structure and viewing Sydney's Skyline and it's surrounds, but for a more thrilling and birds eye view you can actually climb the suspension arch of the bridge to the 134m high summit! The ToursThe tours for the Sydney Harbour bridge climb take rougly 3 and half hours, this includes a safety induction and information session. There have been no safety issues on the bridge climb during it's 10 years of operation. In fact, the climb is undertaken by people of all fitness levels and backgroudns from ages 10 years old to 100. Many people have overcome their fear of heights with the support of the bridge climb staff who are trained to deal with such persons. During the entire climb partcipants are dressed in safety suits and a safety harness that is attached to a system built into structure of the bridge. No loose jewelery or other personal items are permitted, including cameras, however photos will be taken by staff members at the summit as testimony of your success. CostBookings for the bridge climb MUST be made in advance as it has become one of the top attractions of the city. This also means that the climb is more expensive during peak season. Children who are aged 10-16 cost significantly less then adults. The day of the week also impacts the price, during off peak season climbing on the weekend costs more than climbing during the week. Twilight is considered the most visually impressive time to view any city as it is still light enough to see most things and dark enough to see the lights of the buildings, streets and cars. Therefore this time is the most expensive time to climb the bridge. |
