Sydney is a large city nestled on the southeastern coast of Australia. It is quite a populous Australian city, and being acknowledged as the official New South Wales state capital evidently makes Sydney a heavily populated area. The former was once the tallest structure in Sydney but it holds several other distinctions, including being the highest arch bridge worldwide that is founded on pure steel. The latter, meanwhile, is a popular venue for performing artists that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As much as Sydney carries a rich glorious past, there are other attractions in these parts that are of more recent vintage. These attractions, along with the classic ones, have obviously made Sydney a multi-faceted city where both the past and the present get to interact and co-exist in perfect harmony. They include the famed Sydney Aquarium, the Sydney Tower, the Sydney Wildlife World and Oceanworld. The Sydney Aquarium is considered by many to be the top tourist attraction today in Australia which is not surprising when one considers that there may well be more than 11,000 different species of Australian marine life residing in its waters. The Sydney Aquariums collection includes rare aquatic animals like the Fairy Penguin, the Gray Nurse Shark, and the Weedy Sea Dragon, among others which visitors can see in underwater settings. Meanwhile, adventure-seekers will find a visit to the Sydney Tower worth their while. Its zenith, where the observation deck is located, offers a breathtaking look at Sydney along with its many attractions, including the famed Harbor Bridge. Of particular interest here, though, should be the OzTrek ride where visitors get to view the Australian landscape through a highly-advanced holographic technology, enabling them to discover and explore its unique geography, including its multi-faceted culture and rich history. For the ultimate thrill, there is the sydney tower skywalk that will have you walking around the top on a glass platform! Another Sydney attraction worth seeing is the Sydney Wildlife World found in the middle of Darling Harbor. There are about nine diverse habitats here, the ideal home for various Australian wildlife. Oceanworld located about 200 metres away from Manly Wharf is a huge man-made aquarium where guided tours will take guests across an area where friendly turtles, slippery sea snakes, deadly sharks and various other marine life roam freely. Among its unique features is the Scuba Speak where visitors get to interact with the divers even while they are busy underwater. Sydney is among the premiere Australian cities, highly sophisticated and yet, boasting of attractions that are reflective of its glorious past and its natural wonders.
